Following the recent statement issued by Manj Ral, that he was looking at a solo career, Surjeet Ral (better known as Surj RDB), confirms that he intends as the sole surviving member of RDB, to continue the name and musical legacy of RDB, in honour of his eldest brother Kuldeep Ral (Kuly), who passed away in 2012. Commenting on the same Surj says, "I was sad to see my brother leave RDB. Along with my late brother Kuly, he was one of the founders of the group. He will be missed, but I wish him all the best in his solo career."
Whilst Kuly was the musical leader, and Manj his musical foil, Surj's influence on the musical direction of the group cannot be underestimated - and in addition to fronting the group with his brothers, Surj also was responsible for handling the group's business affairs which in turn saw RDB soar to Bollywood success with hits like 'Singh Is King' with Snoop Dogg, Kambakkht Ishq, Aloo Chaat, Paisa Paisa, and 'Sadi Gali' from Tanu Weds Manu to name but a few.
Kuly's dream was to spread the sound of RDB to all the corners of the world and entertain fans by creating a signature sound, which was immediately identifiable as the RDB sound.
Surj is already working to honour the group's promise to their fans - to release a new album entitled 'Worldwide' - set to release on Three Records, the label associated with recent RDB releases, later this year.
Surj continues..."I will strive to honour and preserve RDB's music - and continue to present live performances to uphold the legacy of our brother Kuly Ral. Myself, and the team, would like to personally thank all our fans for listening, enjoying and dancing to our music since we started out. I'm not about to retire, I promise to keep the name RDB alive for you all. I would also like to respectfully thank my parents for their continuing support and personally thank all the music industry for the support in the name of Paaj."
RDB's latest song in Bollywood - 'Tamanche Pe Disco' from Bullet Raja was highly acclaimed and there's definitely more hits like these set to come from RDB in the next few months.

Sunday 10 am in Chennai was a special occasion. The music and trailer of the new Rajnikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan was launched in the presence of the mega-star himself.
Shah Rukh Khan flew into Chennai by a chartered flight as special guest. He was accompanied by Rajnikanth's co-star Deepika Padukone.
However, just when the music launch of Kochadaiyaan started Shah Rukh heard of his former Red Chillies' CEO Bobby Chawla's death.
Bobby who was Juhi Chawla's only sibling had been in coma since 2010. He was not just Shah Rukh's associate but also his close friend.
On hearing of his death at the Kochadaiyaan event, Shah Rukh was deeply shaken.
"He wanted to fly back immediately. But out of respect for Rajni Sir he stayed back till the end of the event and then rushed back in time for Sanjeev's funeral at 4 pm on Sunday," says a source from Chennai.
Half a decade back, Satish Kaushik and Anupam Kher had come together to build a production house and named it Karolbagh Films & Entertainment Pvt. They made a humble beginning with Tere Sang which was a modest success as well. However, the professional tie up between Kher and Kaushik has ended now with the two partners calling off the production house.
"Though there were major plans for the production house, what with other major corporate houses expressing interest in tying up with them for many more films in years to follow, somehow things didn't quite materialize. As partners, it wasn't really working out for Kher saab and Satishji. They felt that it was best for them to stay on as friends instead of bringing a production house between which was turning out to more of a problem than a solution," informs a close associate.
The break took place many months ago though both being mature personalities, neither Kher nor Kaushik made any hullabaloo around it.
"I think we are in a much happier relationship now," quips Kaushik who continues to be thick friends with Kher, "This is what we realized that we are better off as a friends rather than partners."
Together for last three decades, both Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik are alumnus of National School of Drama. With the closing down of their production house, the two friends are now in a much more relaxed environment together. So much so that Anupam Kher is one of the principle protagonists in Satish Kaushik's upcoming film as a director, 'Gang of Ghosts'.
"When we became partners by forming a production house, we realized that together, we don't really fit in as business people. I think the whole fun element went away. We sat down and thought that it is better to savor our friendship than jeopardize it at this stage of our lives," continues Kaushik.
While Anupam Kher is continuing his entrepreneurism with 'Actor Prepares', Satish Kaushik has now opened an independent production house which is plain and simple titled 'The Satish Kaushik Entertainment'. Its first offering is Gang of Ghosts which is being made in collaboration with Ratan Jain and Ganesh Jain of Venus.
