Salman Khan, who is already caught up in legal controversies, has been dragged to court once again and this time, it is as an anchor of the show 'Bigg Boss 7'. Currently, Salman who is shooting for the reality show has been accused of insulting Muslims along with the channel Colors.
The reality show which is a remake of the English show 'Big Brother' already has too many hullabaloos lurking around; including the recent arrest of Armaan Kohli after his co-contestant Sofia Hayat filed a complaint against him. And now Salman Khan, despite being a host has been alleged of hurting religious sentiments.
'Big Boss' is a show where over 20 contestants stay together in a house filled with cameras monitoring their move and currently the ones left in the house this season, include Armaan Kohli, Ajaz Khan, Gauhar Khan, Tanisha, V J Andy and Sangram Singh.
As though it wasn't enough that the God of all cricketing activities Sachin Tendulkar graced the music release of Adhyayan Suman's film Heartless on Wednesday evening, Sachin gave the young actor a gift he is unlikely to ever forget.
An autographed bat which has driven Adhyayan... well, batty.
Says the amused and enthralled papa Shekhar Suman, "Addy (Adhyayan) keeps kissing the bat every ten minutes. He just can't put it down. Very honestly Sachin's presence at our music release was an event that we cannot hope to better. For me no promotion no event can get bigger than this. It was Sachin's first public event after being conferred with the Bharat Ratna."
Father and son Suman broke into an emotional spirited song 'Thank you, Brother' for Sachin at the end of the evening.
Adds Adhyayan, "I idolize only two people in my life, my dad and Sachin Tendulkar. I felt numbed with joy when Sachin Sir surprised me with his autographed bat. I couldn't stop kissing the bat. I can't get over his presence at my music release. It'll remain a dream that I'll cherish forever. I've sent the bat to be framed in a glass box which will be with me forever."
After a serious health scare when the poet-writer-lyricist was immobilized by a back problem, Javed Akhtar's life has been brightened up with some joyful tidings.
He has been awarded the country's highest literary award the Sahitya Akademi award for his poems in the anthology entitled Lava.
Happy to be on his feet again, physically and creatively, Javed Saab says, "Mazey ki baat yeh hai ke ek parivaar mein teen sadasyon ko Sahitya Akademi award se samnanna gaya hai (interestingly three people from the same family have been honoured with the Sahitya Akademi award). My father (poet-lyricist Jan Nissar Akhtar) got the Sahitya Akademi in 1976 for his collection of poems Khak-e-Dil. My father-in-law Kaifi Azmi got the Sahitya Akademi award in 1973 for his collection of poems Awara Sajde. Now it's me."
Javed Saab can't stop marveling at the beauty of the coincidence. (Neither can we).
Says Javed Saab, "It may be possible for an awardees' father or his father-in-law to win the same award. But for all three to win the same honour seems a bit difficult. I feel honoured that I am the recipient of an award that two such distinguished members of my family have received."
Javed Saab's lower-back ailment which eventuated in his hospitalization in Delhi is healing fast.
"I still feel some stiffness in my lower back. But the pain is now gone. God has been kind to me. He has given me so much. I can't be complaining about a few days of pain and immobility," philosophizes the bard.
While in hospital Javed Saab got two surprise calls.
Pleasurably he recounts, "Ek baar toh bahot logon ne kiya (I received one how-are-you call from many). But only one person called me twice. And that was Lataji. It showed that she genuinely cared about my health. I'm profoundly moved by her concern. I am her biggest fan. And I want her to know she has been a very major source of inspiration for my poetry."

Going by the way his career is zooming up at the popularity charts and if the BO figures of his films are any indication of the things to come, it's not rocket science to say that Ranbir Kapoor is indeed the flavour of every season and for all the right reasons!
According to Bollywood Hungama's reliable sources, Ranbir Kapoor has now been signed up as the brand ambassador of the chips major Lay's. The actor recently shot for the commercial of the same.
After Sanjay Leela Bhansali had to change the title of his film Ram-Leela to Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, the Bombay High Court now is unhappy with the film being certified as U/A.
A division bench of Justice V M Kanade and M S Sonak has asked the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to re-consider its certification asking them to analyze if the film fits into the guidelines being provided. Moreover, the bench has even asked the CBFC to confirm if the film has violated any laws or fundamental rights of the citizens.
Recently, Sandeep Shukla, a Congress member filed a petition against the film for hurting religious sentiments, claiming that the title 'Ramleela' is misleading. Hence, the court has now decided to intervene into the matter and the CBFC has been asked to hear and pass an order on this matter in a span of four weeks. The court has also warned the CBFC to be cautious while certifying films.

Bollywood queens largely dream of becoming Hollywood-oriented. But when it comes to reality they end up with minuscule roles. Mallika Sherawat had a 7-minute role opposite Jackie Chan in The Myth. Aishwarya Rai had a blink-and-you-miss-a-link role in Pink Panther 2. Even the formidable Shabana Azmi had only a walk-on part in Son Of The Pink Panther.
It therefore comes as a jolting surprise to hear from very reliable sources that the very talented Lilette Dubey will be paired opposite Hollywood heavyweight Richard in the sequel to the successful 2011 British film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel directed by John Madden.
The sequel would feature much of the same cast as the original. However, Richard Gere who was not part of the first film, has been added to the cast.
Says the source, "Tina is in the sequel. But not Dev. They're looking for a replacement. The biggest add-on in the sequel is Richard Gere who has been cast opposite Lilette Dubey."
In the original Lilette played the gregarious and chatty Mrs Kapoor. In the sequel she will have a love interest played by the distinguished Gere.
While the details of the sequel are currently being kept under wraps with every member of the cast and crew sworn to secrecy by a confidentiality clause, the very reliable source informs that the sequel to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel begins shooting in India in January 2014.
"The sequel will be shot in one long schedule in Jaipur and Udaipur," informs the source.
