Just like John Abraham who has been an ardent lover of sports, Randeep Hooda has expressed his love for horses. The actor who owns five horses had even recently bought a polo team owing to his passion. And now, the actor has returned successful from the National Equestrian Championship.
The three day event held in Delhi kick started on March 11 and Randeep ended up winning two gold, one silver and two bronzes in this championship. Revealing about the experience, Randeep also stated that he earned the medals in two days but the third day did not see any victory since he and his horse Johnny Walker were exhausted. However, the actor is not unhappy with it and maintained that this was his best performance till date and his six years of training has finally paid off.
Randeep is currently shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut Kick which stars Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles.
Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar has done in 3 minutes what Priyanka Chopra would take 3 hours to say.
In an ad that he shot over three days last week, Shoojit got boxing champion Mary Kom to enact her own life on camera.
Says Shoojit, "It was a remarkably inspiring three-day shoot. Though it's an ad we got Mary Kom to feature in it. And we encapsulated every phase of her life from her childhood struggle for a decent life to her hard-working teens to her current status as boxing champ and a home-maker, we got all of this into the script in just a three-minute film."
The director says it was a huge challenge to get Mary Kom's life on to the film in such meager footage. "I wanted it to be an inspirational saga told in just a few minutes. I didn't want her to come across as a model selling a product but a responsible citizen selling an idea to the millions who look up to her. I had never expected her to be so camera-friendly."
The boxer, whose rise from poverty to being a global sports icon is now being made into a film starring Priyanka Chopra, was a "natural" before the camera.
"It was such a pleasure shooting with Mary Kom. She came to the sets with no attitude or fixed notions. She surrendered to whatever the script demanded. She was fully there with me, collaborating and participating like a true member of the crew," says Shoojit.
There seems to be no end to filmmaker Subhash Kapoor's woes. Just when he had bounced back after murky charges of sexual misconduct he now has to face a shooting cancellation because of a locational accident.
Amit Sadh who fell and fractured his right leg while shooting on location in Shimla for Subhash Kapoor's Guddu Rangeela says he would have to remain bed-ridden for three weeks.
Speaking to this writer from the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital Amit said, "It is a routine fracture. I don't know how exactly it happened. I was shooting when I stumbled and slipped. Before I knew it I felt an acute pain in my right leg."
Amit was flown back to Mumbai from Simla and has been advised complete bed rest.
Wincing with pain the actor says, "It's no big deal. I am used to pain of all kinds. In order to walk one first needs to crawl and then stumble and fall. I am right now in that stage of my life where I am learning to walk. I don't mind the fall."
Amit says recent times have been extremely eventful for him. "The past year has been like a hurricane for me. Suddenly after years of struggle I finally stumbled upon some success. And now just when I was enjoying that success I fractured my leg. This is God's way of reminding me to keep my feet planted firmly on to earth."
Amit is expected to be discharged from hospital on Thursday.
"But I have to remain bed-ridden for three weeks. Until then the shooting remains cancelled. This is my chance to catch up on my sleep and reading," says Amit.
A great legend once told about Kashmir that 'If there's heaven on earth, it is here... it is here... it is here...' Two years back, Saif Ali Khan was arrested by the Mumbai police for assaulting a South African citizen of Indian origin named Iqbal Sharma at Taj Hotel. And now, charges have been pressed against Saif in this case under IPC Section 325 which is voluntarily causing grievous hurt and 34 which is acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention.
In 2012, Saif who had been at the Wasabi restaurant in Taj Hotel with his then girlfriend Kareena Kapoor and friends Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora and others was accused of breaking businessman Iqbal's nose and assaulting his father-in-law. Along with him, others alleged in this case included Shakeel Ladak (husband of Amrita Arora) and his friend Bilal Amrohi.
